Show Notes

Many of us understand that being involved with sports has several benefits, but how does it grow our Resilience?

Ask anyone who played or continues to be involved with sports, and they will likely tell you some of their best connections and long-time friendships originated from playing on a team. Aside from growing our community, learning to play a sport offers countless opportunities to grow our Resilience.

As a soccer player, Adam Lang had learned to work hard, celebrate the wins, and bounce back from losses. Whether playing club soccer as a youth, joining the national team, or playing college soccer, Adam was honing his Resilience while doing what he loved. Adam met Daniel Phelps when he crossed the border from Canada to play for the University of Washington. Friendships like this are rare.

On December 13, 2015, a week after attending Adam's wedding as best man, Daniel, 27 years old, passed away from sudden cardiac arrest.

In this conversation, Adam takes us through losing his best friend and how this loss led him to find his purpose. Today, as the founder of the Daniel Phelps Foundation, Adam has learned a lot about sudden cardiac arrest and why the first five minutes are critical to saving a life. Join us for this remarkable story of friendship, community and finding your purpose.
